cultivating growth to change lives

Empowering individuals and families through workforce development, affordable childcare, and access to affordable housing

About Us

Our Mission

Project 8:12 is dedicated to helping families reach their God-given potential - socially, economically, and spiritually.

Our Focus

Our focus is on the communities of Southeast Michigan.  While there are many programs serving the needs of those in poverty, very few programs are serving those just outside of poverty - the working poor.  This is where we see the greatest amount of potential.  Our initial assessments within these communities show that for individuals and families to move from struggling to thriving they need:

  • Soft skills and workforce development training for sustainable and gainful employment
  • Greater access to affordable childcare
  • Greater access to affordable home ownership

Our Reason

As followers of Jesus, we are called to do His work, to share His love, and to serve those who are in need. We believe that this mission is similar to the vision that God had for the revival and renewal of Jerusalem as stated in Zechariah 8:12:

“For there shall be a sowing of peace. The vine shall give its fruit, and the ground shall give its produce, and the heavens shall give their dew. And I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these things.”

Just as Zechariah visioned the renewal of Jerusalem, we believe that God is calling us to cultivate the communities of Southeast Michigan for His Kingdom - one family at a time.

Business Community Forum

At Project 8:12 we believe that everyone has potential sometimes they just need a little cultivation to grow and flourish. At the same time we also know that employee turnover is an ongoing challenge for businesses in our community.

To meet the needs of both businesses and individuals, we have designed a workforce development and soft skills training academy. Before we officially launch this program we feel it is important to get your initial feedback and insights. We want to make sure our program will address the increasing workforce challenges of businesses in the community.

We are excited to introduce Project 8:12, share our initial community assessment findings, and get your insights and feedback on the curriculum outline that we have designed. Additionally, we look forward to developing partnerships with local businesses and seeing how we can help address the needs you have for a stronger and more stable workforce.
