About
Project 8:12

Our Focus

Our focus is on the communities of Southeast Michigan. While there are many programs serving the needs of those in poverty, very few programs are serving those just outside of poverty - the working poor. This is where we see the greatest amount of potential.

Our assessments within these communities show that for individuals and families to move from struggling to thriving they need:

  • Soft skills and workforce development training for sustainable and gainful employment
  • Greater access to affordable childcare
  • Greater access to affordable home ownership

The programming of Project 8:12 is designed to meet these needs – starting with PROsper, our personal development curriculum.  Through PROsper, individuals will learn what their unique God-given gifts and talents are – and – how to use those gifts in their personal, professional, and spiritual life.

Our Reason

As followers of Jesus, we are called to do His work, to share His love, and to serve those who are in need. We believe that this mission is similar to the vision that God had for the revival and renewal of Jerusalem as stated in Zechariah 8:12:

“For there shall be a sowing of peace. The vine shall give its fruit, and the ground shall give its produce, and the heavens shall give their dew. And I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these things.”

Just as Zechariah visioned the renewal of Jerusalem, we believe that God is calling us to cultivate the communities of Southeast Michigan for His Kingdom – one life at a time.
